Fitness finds is a collection of resources I use to be successful in my fitness journey. The Gymboss Interval Timer is a great option for timing workouts or completing interval training.

Fitness Finds #3 Gymboss Interval Timer

If you’re like me, I sometimes (often intentional) give myself extra rest time during interval training if I can see the time.

That means stopping with 3 seconds left because I won’t be able to complete a full burpee in 3 seconds. And now I’ve shorted myself on rest time lol.

I got my Gymboss Interval Timer during grad school when Zukka was still at bodyrock. I was following some of her workouts and was sold on her Gymboss. I wanted to buy all the equipment she had and just do her workouts. But I was a grad student so you know. Lol I started Crossfit in Tucson, AZ shortly after that. I have a boyfriend who spoiled/spoils me, and they offered a great discount to students.

I used it here and there between grad school and now. I took it with me on runs. Used it for workouts at home and when I’d come home for short breaks during school.

When I started teaching fitness classes, I used my Gymboss Interval Timer for HIIT training.

Now I use it all the time for LUCC workouts and working out at home more often. It keeps me honest in my workouts and allows me to just focus on my workouts and moving well.

Mine has 2 settings but the newer ones may have more. You can use it as a timer to count up (Crossfit low key got me obsessed with seeing how long it takes me to do things including folding laundry and shoveling snow). My favorite setting is the interval timer. You can set how long your work and rest periods are and how many of them you want to complete. Side note, if you have 4 exercises that you need to complete 4 times, you’ll set your rounds for 16 and not 4. I’ve done this before and had to keep starting it over lol.

So if you’re doing a lot of interval training, grab one of these. They even clip onto your clothes.
