Weekly Meal Plan #1: Dinners gives you 5 dinner ideas for the week. Each of these is done in under 30 (except the slow cooker meal), packed with protein, and matches your portions to help you get lean with a busy schedule.

I decided to start doing these meals plans to give you ideas for what you can quickly make and eat during the week.

Living the FitLife doesn’t have to take a lot of time. All we need is some strategy and a little planning to make it fit our busy schedules. I’ll be giving ideas for all meals, not just dinner. But I figured dinner is usually a good place to start! I’m always looking for simple meals too. So why not share what I find 🙂

Dinner time!

Weekly Meal Plan #1: Dinners

With it getting cold, it easy to want to eat lots of comfort foods. While I’m all for enjoying from time to time, too many comfort foods can make getting lean and living the FitLife more challenging. During this time of year, I really enjoy soups, slow cooker meals, and chilis. And I like to indulge in pretty much anything with cheese (pizza anyone?) and chocolate (hot chocolate with coffee). But that’s besides the point.

Here’s your meal ideas for the week!

Mustard Salmon Sheet Pan Dinner by foodiecrush

Salmon is such a great source of protein and healthy fats. Plus you get some omega-3s which is really a bonus! I like this one because you also get your serving of veggies and smart carbs for a well-balanced meal. Depending on how much salmon you make, you may have leftovers for lunch the next day! But don’t be that co-worker that heats up fish in the break room, lol.

Slow Cooker Honey Apple Pork Sirloin

Slow Cooker Apple Honey Apple Pork Sirloin by yours truly!

I’m a little biased, but this one was really good. I had enough pork leftover for lunch for me and the boyfriend the next day.

I love a good chili, my boyfriend makes an amazing one! But I also really love white chicken chili. This recipe is awesome! Not only do you get plenty of lean protein (chicken and beans), but you also get smart carbs (beans) and some veggies (onions, peppers). Plus you can freeze the rest and have it later.

We make taco soup twice a month. Also, I love salmon cooked in butter with rosemary and some bacon in it.

I do love taco soup and especially when it’s cold. Bacon with salmon sounds delicious! Bacon with almost anything sounds delicious!

  2. These look yummy. Quick question… what makes a chili “white”?

Allison, chili is often made with tomatoes and tomato sauce/soup plus kidney beans. Those give it a nice red color. With white chili, white beans are used as well as chicken broth. Hope that helps!
