Fitness Finds is an opportunity for me to share with you different resources I use to live the FitLife.
They vary from exercise equipment, to kitchen gadgets, all the way to books to inspire you to live life. These are all things that I use currently or have used in the past to help me along my fitness journey.
First up: the Gaiam Yoga Mats.
I initially had a heavily padded gym mat that I picked up at TJ Maxx years ago after college when yoga was just gaining popularity. Or maybe it had already, but I was just barely hearing about it in my circle. Most everyone I saw doing yoga was skinny so yoga must have been my ticket to finally being skinny. I don’t think that anymore, but I so desperately wanted to just be skinny that I’d give it a try. Obviously, these thoughts don’t just go away. I still have my moments. More so now because of summer.
Fast forward to earlier this year when I started doing some yoga at home with the bf. We just had my gym mat. So we decided we should both get new mats if we were going to do yoga at home. We really like Yoga with Adriene but don’t do it much because Ryan’s schedule is pretty unpredictable working in IT.
We both got Gaiam yoga mats after asking friends what brands they like. These are a great option for us just starting out, not certain if we’d stick with it. He got the extra long and I got a regular length with 5mm padding for my knees and elbows. I like it for yoga, use it a lot for my LUCC workouts at home, and use it for stretching. Plus it’s super cute. It works great for my basic fitness needs. And I haven’t had any issues with it in terms of quality. Plus it’s super easy to clean and store.
