I can’t believe it’s already June workout plan week 3. Congrats to you for continuing your exercise habit during the summer. You’re on your way to making exercise a part of your schedule, for life!
I hope you’re having a great summer and getting in some fun activity.
As part of my challenge to you to stay active, I’ve been providing 2 workouts a week that you can do outside or at the park. And then 1 active day a week where you can hike, swim, or do something active that’s outside. If you’ve been enjoying the weather, add another fun active day to your summer routine. Missed the first 2 weeks? Grab week 1 here and week 2 here!
I’m not big on being outside, I only hike with Butters because she loves it and really loves to be outside. I try and spoil her as much as possible with walks, daycare, trips to the dog park, and hiking. She deserves it! I haven’t been to a pool, on a boat, or anything like that in years. Part of it has been because I didn’t feel comfortable in my body. I don’t like the attention that my muscles bring. But another reason is that I get a heat rash if I’m out in the sun too long. So I just have to be careful.
I’ve also never been camping. Something about sleeping outside on the ground doesn’t sell me. Yes I know there are air mattresses and glamping, but I think I just really like comfy beds and access to bathrooms and showers. I do hear that the night sky is much better outside of the city limits.
June Workout Plan Week 3
Take these workouts to the park, do them at the gym, in your hotel room, at your camp site, or do them in your living room. You don’t need any equipment, which is a bonus.
Warm up with 5-7 minutes of walking or jogging around the park.
Cool down with 5-7 minutes of walking around the park. Then stretch.
Rest 24 hours between workouts. You can always walk the dog, and do other activities on your non-exercise days.
Put your sunscreen on to protect your skin and your skin’s future! Working in a cancer hospital, I’ve become hypersensitive to this. I finally started wearing sunscreen daily.
Don’t forget to drink water especially if it’s hot where you are. Staying and feeling hydrated is key.
