Chicken wings are probably one of my legit favorite things in life, EVER!
There’s a photo of me as a kid at my parent’s house of me eating chicken. I’m probably only 2 in that photo. I always had a love for chicken.
I got an Instant Pot a few years ago. Ryan bought it for me one Black Friday after I had just mentioned it. I didn’t think I would use it so I wasn’t convinced to buy it. He must have been feeling really nice that day (he’s nice pretty much all the time) and ordered it for me. I thought he was joking until it showed up at our door.
I’ve been using my Instant Pot mainly to cook rice. Did you know you can cook brown rice in 22 minutes with the Instant Pot?! I also use it to cook chicken and some other meats here and there. I haven’t taken advantage of all the things I can make in it. So I decided to try my hand at chicken wings, they were on sale at Sprouts (bonus).
These Instant Pot sweet chili garlic chicken wings turned out to be amazing.
Ryan couldn’t wait for me to finish photographing them so he could devour them. And that’s what we both did. These are quick to make. Add some veggies, and you’re good to go. If you don’t have an Instant Pot yet, get one. Brown rice done in 22 minutes. That’s all I need to say. And well, this recipe too because it’s solid.
- 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce (I used Grama’s Sweet Chili Sauce)
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbs olive oil – not extra virgin
- 2 lbs wingettes thawed
- For the Greek yogurt ranch:
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup water or milk/milk alternative
- 2 tbs dried parsley
- 1 tbs dried chives
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Add 2 tbs olive oil to the Instant Pot.
- Turn on the saute function.
- Once the pot and the oil are warm, add the wings.
- Let brown 5-7 minutes rotating as needed.
- Once wings are brown, turn off the Instant Pot.
- Mix together the sauce (chili sauce, garlic, and water) and pour on top of the wings.
- Mix to coat.
- Turn the Instant Pot back on and select the manual setting. Set timer for 12 minutes.
- Make sure latch is set.
- Let wings cook for 12 minutes.
- Once the timer goes off, flip the latch over to release the pressure.
- Remove wings and enjoy with some ranch and veggies.
